Dear Friends

My name is Joe Kavanagh and I am the Minister of Mearns Kirk.   I write to you not just to introduce myself but to introduce our Church family to you.

We are a Christian congregation which meets in the lovely wee white church that can be seen from Mearns Road and Eaglesham Road.  In fact bits of it, especially our big yellow cockerel on top of the steeple, can be seen from many parts of the Mearns!  This is the church building set in the heart of Mearns Parish, and all that goes on in the life of the people who meet there, I write to commend to you.   From the information which follows you will see what is happening and all these activities are open to you and yours.

As the Minister I know that we are not the perfect church but what I also know is that we are friendly and welcoming.  We are becoming more and more a family church where everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, is finding a place and knowing themselves to be valued. Together we are exploring life and faith, and that in the knowledge of being loved by God just as we are, the God who in Jesus calls us into a loving relationship with Him and loving relationships with each other.

All are welcome in our Kirk and as the Parish Minister I am here for you, quite happy to be of help in whatever way I can.   Please feel free to call upon me; you do not need to be a church member to avail yourself of what the family of the Church has to offer.
